A very good free FPS. Originally an expansion pack for Return To Castle Wolfenstein. Enemy Territory became a fully free downloadable game.
This game encourages you to work as a team, but unfortunately not many people do and just want the XP for special weapons and features. This is multiplayer only, I played this for a while, then I lost interest.

Americas Army: Special Forces

A game created by the Army, it's a tactical team-based shooter. So there is no run 'n' gunning here! You also need a fairly good PC to run it. The gameplay is different to any other FPS I have encountered, if you don't take it slow and work with your team, you will get shot.

Available for one year, the game allows players to play the full game Planetside for the duration of the service, but cannot upgrade their character after a certain level.
A lengthy 1.8GB download prevents me from trying the game at the moment, so I can't provide much feedback.

A fast and frantic third-person online shooter. With rusty swords and and powerful weapons. Alot of people like this game, I didn't like it very much though. It gets very repetitive, the servers are usually full and it can get very laggy at times.
It's not exactly newbie-friendly either.

I used to love this game when I had my old PII. It was very addicting and had great gameplay. The graphics may look dated but it is perfect for the lower end computer user, includes several ground and aircraft vehicles for varied gameplay, also includes quite alot of weapons.

A farely average FPS. I didn't like it... If their objective was realism then they have failed on all fronts, it's fun for a while. But soon gets boring. If you like Counter-Strike, then the graphics and gameplay is very similar, just based in a different Vietnam setting.

This game is also available to buy instore, it's an army based strategic shooter that relives important events in the War In Iraq and such. Like the capture of Saddam Huissien. I like this game, it's very laggy online and the maps take a while to download, you also need to download each mission seperatly, which also takes a long time.

An ex-commercial game that has become F2P. It's not a very good game but not a very bad one. Quite challenging too. Worth a try, several different vehicles to roam around in, jeeps, tanks, boats, planes, etc. It has rather poor AI and sluggish controls don't help, it's hard to locate the enemy and the chances are that "if you can see them, they can see you".

I personally haven't played this, it's supposed to have "excellent gameplay" so it's worth a try. A i Toribash zajebista gierka
Toribash należy do gatunku gry typu strategiczne-mordobicie. Nie uświadczymy tu pięknych krajobrazów, wyśmienitej muzyki, ogromnej dynamiki, lecz boski tryb fizyczny.
Grę tą można zakwalifikować do pokazówke modelu rag-doll(model ten odpowiada za fizyke) i tak mamy możliwość sterowania KAŻDYM mięsniem naszego wojaka możemy je skurczać, rozkurczać, zwiotczać etc, a każdy ruch przyniesie widoczny efekt.
Na samym początku mówiłem, że zaliczyłbym tą gre do typu strategicznego-mordobicia. Pewno zapytacie się w tym momencie co mordobicie ma wspólnego z grą strategiczną, ano od dzisiaj ma troche więcej niż wciśnieci 123324 combosów.
Na samym początku nasza postać stoi "na sztywniaka" to my umożliwiamy jej ruchy. Co każde 10 klatek mamy możliwość poruszenia/zwiotczenia etc. każdego mieśnia, oczywiście jeśli my to również i nasz przeciwnik. Dlatego praktycznie co 10 klatek nasz plan doskonały może ulec zmianie i mięśień który chcieliśmy użyć może nie dosięgnąć naszego oponenta.
Gra posiada tryb dla jednego gracza jak i multiplayer, ale przyznam, że jest ona cholernie trunda do opanowania.

Mount&Blade
Pierwszy raz grę Mount & Blade zobaczyłem, gdy siedziałem u kumpla Puzona w stanie otwierającym już niektóre kłódki do światów astralnych. Pomyślałem wtedy- całkiem sympatyczna gra, rycerze harcują po ekranie jak wszy po amerykańskich żołnierzach w japońskich obozach jenieckich podczas II WŚ, zero magii, w sumie jakaś odmiana od przesyconych kulami ognia światów D&D czy Warhammera. Właśnie tego było mi trzeba- rozwiązywania problemów przy pomocy zweihandera, kuszy alibo całkiem zgrabnej, niby- ormiańskiej-szabelki, a nie dobierania wysublimowanych czarów aby nękać żołdaków wroga. I już wysuwa się naprzód pierwszy plus- realizm, jesteśmy człowiekiem żywcem rzuconym w mediewalne realia i tyle, nic dodać nic ująć. Świat jest fikcyjny, a nie fantastyczny.
Po aktywowaniu wersji shareware zrazu rzuciłem się w wir walki. I co się odznacza, hm, grafika prawdę mówiąc jest niezła choć tekstury - widziałem lepsze, postaci - no tutaj mały plusik, ładnie zrobione, realistyczne. Ekwipunek również jest odwzorowany nienajgorzej. Ale to tak jak jeździć mercedesem po zasranej drodze, niezbyt miłe wrażenie. Chociaż np. cienie, tutaj twórcy się wyraźnie postarali, widzimy np. słoneczko przed sobą a cień mamy za sobą, miły szczegół. Jeśli już mówimy o tym co działa na zmysły, to dźwięki oręża zatapiającego się w trzewia wrogów- miodzio, poprawia to nastrój i zachęca do podjechania z lewej strony kolejnego bandyty i zmuszenia programu do otworzenia konkretnego pliku dźwiękowego. No tętent kopyt też sympatyczny, ale czego mi brakuje- odgłosów przyrody, ptaszków ćwierkających, gdy zapada noc- cykania świerszczy, efekt byłby niesamowity.
Nasz bohater może na początku być giermkiem, łowcą, kupcem tudzież kapłanem. Pierwszy posługuje się bronią białą, drugi wszelkimi broniami miotającymi pociski trzeci zajmuje się … handlem (!) a ostatnim nie grałem, więc nie mam pojęcia jakie jest miejsce kapłana w świecie M&B, a może lepiej- świecie średniowiecza. Najwięcej czasu poświęciłem postaci pierwszej i sporo satysfakcji w zamian otrzymałem. Zaczynamy jako bidny chłopak w mieście Zendar, w tle mamy wojnę dwóch zwalczających się frakcji Swadianów (utożsamiłbym ich z ogólnie pojętą Europą Zachodnią) i Vaegirów (szable, kołpaki - nic tylko Litwa, Ruś, Nowogród). Dodam, że takich utożsamień jest więcej np. formacja "sea raiders" i chociażby miły pan w nordyckim hełmie, który po spotkaniu z naszą kampanią mówi "Aj willl dhhhink fhhom yohhhr skhalll!!!" przywołuje na myśl Wikinga czy Warega, dalej- mamy okazję spotkać tzw. oddziały które w nazwie mają "khergit"- Mongołowie, najprawdziwsi- stroje i to że nie można ich ścigać konno bez tarczy, bo jadąc konno szyją z łuków celnie, nawet odwróciwszy się tyłem do kierunku jazdy, a steppe bandits- Kozacy, Tatarzy, lekko uzbrojeni, ale bitni i też nieźli w łucznictwie. Mamy więc szereg aluzji historycznych, co bardzo cieszy, tylko bandyci wszędzie tacy sami… I tak wyżynając wrogów, opowiadamy się po jednej ze stron konfliktu- albo stajemy się Swadianem albo Vaegirem. Z tym wiążą się questy jakie później otrzymujemy od oficjeli tych frakcji. Możemy też parać się eskortowanie karawan czy tropieniem bandytów.
Przez całą grę oczywiście rozwijamy swoje umiejętności, podnosimy współczynniki siły, zwinności, inteligencji, charyzmy i poziom władania różnymi rodzajami broni (jednoręczna, dwuręczna, łuki, kusze i broń miotana - noże, oszczepy,… topory). Umiejętności są różnorakie i o nich najlepiej poczytać sobie w osobnym dziale na stronce, ja powiem tylko, że jest ich sporo i każda bardzo ułatwia grę- ale ze mnie [ciach] odkrywca…
mount & blade Dynamika walki przyprawia o pozytywną palpitację serca i jest piękna do granic. Gdy staje naprzeciw siebie po 20 chłopa by za chwilę biec na siebie wrzeszcząc i wydając inne straszliwe dźwięki, każdy włosek na ciele ma prawo stanąć dęba. Mamy też do wyboru szereg ciosów bronią białą- pchnięcie, sztych, cięcie, co wzbogaca jeszcze realizm bitwy. I potem to całe pole bitwy zasłane trupami… niesamowite wrażenie.
No i kwestia towarzyszy podróży, których rekrutujemy w karczmach lub odbijamy wrogom, którzy prowadzą ze sobą korowód jeńców. Na początku gry mamy określoną ilość możliwych do rekrutacji towarzyszy, każdemu musimy płacić żołd, a górną granicę ilości możliwych kompanów podnosimy wraz z charyzmą i umiejętnością przywództwa (leadership). W karczmach zazwyczaj możemy rekrutować jedynie słabe jednostki od farmerów, chłopów do jakiś tam milicjantów miejskich, którzy w starciu z grupą jeźdźców Vaegirskich przysłowiowego [ciach] mogą. Ale na szczęście każdy z maluczkich ma możliwość awansu i wszelkie drabinki rozwoju na stronie znajdziecie. Powiedziałem o możliwości odbicia jeńców np. idzie sobie patrol Swadianów prowadzących w charakterze jeńców 4 Vaegirskich rycerzy, rozgramiamy patrol (co nie będzie łatwe przy pomocy wieśniaków, ale może się udać, czemu nie…) i wcielamy do naszego oddziału za darmo (w karczmach należy uiścić opłatę początkową każdemu nowozatrudnionemu wojakowi), chociaż oczywiście żołd trzeba będzie rycerzom płacić- 39 denarów na tydzień, dla porównania wieśniak dostaje 2. Ale jest za co płacić, szczególnie polecam opcję sformowania kompanii jeźdźców i rycerzy, wtedy bardzo szybko będzie się można przemieszczać i bez problemu nękać nieprzyjaciela.
Teraz może króciutko o mankamentach. Po pierwsze, gra po dwóch dniach robi się liniowa, te same questy "przynieś, podaj" czy łapanie wrogich satrapów tudzież dostarczanie wiadomości do sąsiedniego miasta mogą naprawdę nudzić. Ale jeśli ktoś ma zapał i samozaparcie- nie ma problemu. A jeśli ktoś zapału nie ma- instaluje moda, ja ostatnio grałem w "Dukes & Mercenaries" - super mod, przenosi nas w realia XV w. - czyli już możemy postrzelać z arkabuza, polecam! Mamy tam ogromną ilość nowych broni, koni i wdzianek. Innym mankamentem jest to, że aby pograć naprawdę bez zacinek trzeba posiadać 256 - 512 MB RAM, gdyż jeśli atakujemy jakąś ogromną frakcję i ustawimy battlesize (ilość jednostek na mapie) na maxa- to będzie się cięło niesamowicie.
Mimo powyższych mankamentów mamy przed sobą grę kompletną, z bardzo elastycznym enginem, który przy pomocy odpowiedniego moda potrafi przenieść nas w czasy konkwistadorów, wojen napoleońskich czy nawet… II WŚ (!). Poza tym, grafika jest ok., dźwięki piękne, realizm niesamowity, wybitka jak się patrzy. Wszystko to składa się na całość, przy której człowieka [ciach] boli od siedzenia 8 h przed kompem i to jeszcze w pozytywnym stresie, czy aby wrogi magnat, którego mieliśmy złapać nie obrał innej drogi do punktu X. I to jest siłą tejże gry, grywalność, niesamowite przyssanie do kompa na spory okres czasu, nic dziwnego, że chodzę ostatnio spać o 3 a wstaje o 12, ale w sumie satysfakcja jest. Więc sięgnijcie po tę grę czym prędzej, warto, warto, po trzykroć - warto!

Dungeon Keeper PL (Strategia)
Swoim czasy chyba jedna z najlepszych strategii czasu rzeczywistego. Nowatorskie rozwiązania, całość osadzona w mrocznych podziemiach, a także dowodzenia nad wszelakimi stworkami czyni ów tytuł czymś wyjątkowym. Nie wiem jak Wy, ale ja zawsze szukałem strategii, gdzie stajemy po stronie zła. Ta giera była (i jest) czymś świetnym. Biorąc pod uwagę, iż Dungeon Keeper jest świetnie spolonizowany wspaniale wprowadza nas w świat gry. Polecam gorąco. Ja osobiście spędziłem miesiące zarządzając moim lochem, prowadząc mych sługów do zwycięstwa.
UWAGA !!
Aby gra się uruchomiła musicie edytować plik "KEEPER.CFG" za pomocą notatnika i zmieniamy ścieszke docelową z"INSTALL_PATH= c:\dk\" na adres gdzie wypakowaliśmy grę (np. "INSTALL_PATH=D:\dungeon keeper\").

System Shock 2 jest kontynuacją wielkiego hitu z 1994 roku i unikalną krzyżówką cRPG i gry akcji. Postal jest dość kontrowersyjnym tytułem, dlatego sprzedaży zakazano w kilku krachach. Gra przeznaczona jest wyłącznie dla pełnoletnich odbiorców, gdyż jest bardzo brutalna i sadystyczna. Oprawa audio-wizualna prezentuje się całkiem dobrze. Poruszamy się naszym małym sadystą i bez żadnych skrupułów tłuczemy równo napotkanych obywateli.
W zbieraniu krwawego żniwa pomaga nam dziewięć śmiercionośnych broni (granaty, pistolet maszynowy, strzelba, karabin szturmowy, miny, butelki z benzyną, wyrzutnia rakiet, granatnik napalmowy i miotacz płomieni).
Szesnaście różnych etapów pełnych "przeciwników" do ukończenia. Nie pozostaje nic innego jak zacisnąć zęby, przygotować szmatkę do oczyszczenia monitora z hektolitrów krwi i zacząć siekę.

Darmowa strzelanina internetowa. W grze wcielamy się w postać kulki, należącej do jednej z dwóch walczących ze sobą frakcji - niebieskiej lub czerwonej. Do dyspozycji mamy sześć różnych broni, 13 map i kilka typów rozgrywki.
Babo Violent 2 to darmowa gra przeznaczona do prowadzenia rozgrywek sieciowych, w których wcielamy się w postać... kulki smilies/wink.gif przynależnej do jednego z zespołów (czerwony lub niebieski).
Zabawę może prowadzić jednocześnie od 2 do 32 graczy na 13 różnorodnych mapach. System zabawy przypomina w dużym stopniu ten, który znany jest z takich tytułów jak Quake, Tremulous czy True Combat. Oprawa graficzna co prawda nie powala, ale nie przeszkadza to w dobrej zabawie.
